Supervision for Counsellors

I qualified as a supervisor with the Metanoia Institue (Certificate in Clinical Supervision) and I offer supervision for counsellors and psychotherapists. I work with both qualified practitioners and those who are currently in training. The sessions can be online (zoom) or in person at my offices in Worcester Park.

My Philosophy of Supervision

I work in a collaborative and supportive way with supervisees. The supervision relationship should be equal and respectful. Working as a therapist, particularly in private practice, can be quite isolating and regular supervision can help ease this.

Supervision can help support your practice in a number of ways.

Clinical Support

Supervision is a great place to bring your client work. It’s an extra pair of eyes for your clients and a supportive place to review and reflect on your clinical practice. As well as looking at areas where you can improve your skills and knowledge, supervision is a chance to celebrate the successes in your work.

Personal Support

Working as a therapist can be a heavy load to carry and self-care needs to be at the forefront of our minds. There will always be clients that resonate with us in different ways. Having a space to explore these issues and their impact on ourselves ensures we can continue to offer the best service to our clients.

Business Support

Running a private practice requires many different hats. Our training provides us with the skills and knowledge to work with clients, but very few (if any!) training courses offer instruction on running a business. Whether it’s dealing with client enquiries, knowing how to set your fees, chasing payments, record keeping, financial issues or marketing. I can help you with the business aspects of your practice.

About My Practice

Since qualifying in 2018, I have worked exclusively in my private practice. I am passionate about therapy and supporting both clients and other therapists. I work with adults on an individual basis. My initial training was in an integrative relational model, but I prefer to meet my clients where they are and use theory to help reflect on the process rather than direct the journey.

I am a member of the BACP and adhere to their ethical code. My role as a supervisor is to help you recognise and work through any ethical dilemmas.

Alongside my client work, I am a business coach specialising in supporting fellow therapists to start or develop their private practices. With over 15 years experience of running companies and a background in IT, I am ideally placed to help people in this area.

Sessions and Fees

I offer the following supervision sessions:

Regular supervision (either weekly or fortnightly) – 50 minutes for £60.

Monthly supervision – 90 minutes for £120

One off supervision can be arranged on an ad-hoc basis, please contact me to discuss this further.

Next Steps

I offer all prospective supervisees a free 30-minute session (either in person or online). This is a chance for us to get to know each other and see if we would like to work together.

Please get in touch if you would like to arrange a free introductory call.
