Counselling
The day and time, number and frequency of sessions are agreed between the client and counsellor. Each session will normally last 50 mins. Counselling can be time limited (for example 6-12 weeks) or it can be opened ended, where we review our progress at pre-agreed dates.
I work with individuals on a face to face basis. Your counselling session is all about you; you are the focus and we will work at your pace. I will not judge, lecture or advise you. My role is to listen and support you.
Drop me a message through our contact form or call me on 07496 784 532.
I offer an initial, no obligation session. This will allow you the chance to experience therapy and discuss your needs and goals for therapy.
Counselling can be used to support people in distress or to help deal with a traumatic event. Sometimes it can be hard to process difficult emotions. Counselling gives you the opportunity to explore your feelings and thoughts in a safe and supportive environment. Whether you are struggling with a single issue or facing a more complex situation, I will work with you to help explore your situation and support you with identifying and achieving any goals you may have.
First Session
There is no waiting time. I work full-time in my practice and can typically offer you an introductory session within a few days.
An Introductory Session is a session I offer all potential clients as a way to try out what it is like to sit in a room and talk with me. The aim of an introductory session is to make sure that you are comfortable that I am the right person to support you before you commit to regular sessions.
The most important part of counselling is for the client to feel safe and comfortable with their chosen counsellor. This is why I offer all potential clients an introductory session which is a chance to meet with me and see if I am going to be the right person to support you.
During the first session, I will explain about confidentiality and invite you to talk about what has prompted you to seek counselling. If you know what you would like to achieve from the sessions we can discuss that, but it is fine if you don’t have any specific goals.
At the end of the introductory session, we will discuss the best next steps for you. This may be starting regular counselling or it might be that you want some time to think things through.
Introductory sessions last 50 mins and cost the same as a regular session. There is no obligation for you to return after an introductory session.
Just email or call me to arrange a convenient time for your first session. Once we have agreed a session time, I ask for payment in advance to secure the booking.
There are no forms to complete and you do not need to be referred by anyone.

Remote Counselling
The current government advice is to stay home. As a result, I am no longer offering face to face sessions with clients. I have temporarily, moved my practice to remote working. This means you will be offered the chance to have your counselling session on the phone or via an online video service.
Contact me to find out more information.
I use zoom for my online sessions. Prior to the session, I will send you a link to a password protected counselling room. At the start of your session, you simply click the link to access my counselling room.
If you haven’t used zoom before, it’s very simple. You don’t need an account to access it. Here’s a link to a short information video on how to use zoom. https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362193-Joining-a-Meeting
