Counselling can be used to support people in distress or to help deal with a traumatic event. It can also be viewed as a wellbeing tool to help you understand your own processes, patterns and behaviours.
Counselling is a unique experience for each client. The foundations of good therapy lies in the strength of the relationship between the counsellor and client. It is important to take time and find the right counsellor for you.
We provide face to face counselling sessions for individuals. Counselling can be time limited (for example 6-12 weeks) or it can be opened ended, where we review our progress at pre-agreed dates.
Before committing to therapy, we offer an initial, no obligation session. This will allow you the chance to experience therapy and discuss your needs and goals for therapy. We are currently offering a discount of £20 on this initial session.
Whether you come for an initial session, time limited therapy or open ended sessions you are the focus and you set the pace. Our counsellors are there to support you and work with you.
I worked as an IT specialist in various blue chip companies before completing my counselling training. I am a relational counsellor which means I believe the relationship between the client and therapist is what heals. I specialise in Integrative Theory, which means I can work with a variety of established theories to ensure my approach is tailored to each individual clients’ needs.
In addition to my private practice, I also volunteer as a counsellor for a the inhouse employee counselling service of a local council and a local charity in Kingston. My clients have come from a range of different backgrounds and have sought counselling for a wide variety of reasons. Some clients have focused on past events, and others have been looking for support through a particularly traumatic time in their life.
These are some of the issues I have previously worked with:
This list is not exhaustive, if the issue that is concerning you is not on the list, please feel free to contact me to discuss this.
